Suitability for PwBD Candidates
The vacancies are suitable for candidates belonging to the following categories of Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD):
- Deaf and Hard of Hearing (D or HH)
- Locomotor Disability including:
- Cerebral Palsy (CP)
- Leprosy Cured
- Dwarfism (DW)
- Acid Attack Victims (AAV)
- Muscular Dystrophy
- Spinal Deformity and Spinal Injury without any associated neurological/limb dysfunction (BL, OL (R or L), OA (R or L), OLA)
- Autism, Intellectual Disability, Specific Learning Disability and Mental Illness (SLD)
- Multiple disabilities (MD) i.e. at least two disabilities from the categories indicated above.
Pay Scale
Level-10 in the Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC.
Age Limit
35 years for UR category.
Essential Qualifications
(A) Educational:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture from a recognized University or institution.
- Registered as Architect with the Council of Architecture under the Architects Act, 1972 (20 of 1972).
(B) Experience:
Experience of three years in Design and construction of buildings and execution of civil works.
Desirable Qualifications
- Master’s of Architecture from a recognized University or Institute; or
- Master’s of Arts (Architectural conservation or building conservation) from a recognized University or institute.
Note: The Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission, for reasons to be recorded in writing, in the case of candidates otherwise well qualified.
Duties
To assist Director (Conservation) in performing the following duties:
- Reviewing the functioning of Deputy Superintending Archaeological Architect.
- Monitoring the preparation of Conservation Plan, Site Management Plan and Condition Appraisal Reports of World Heritage monuments and other monuments.
- Review the design of amenities and other building within monuments.
- Review the DPRs related to conservation and development within/around monuments.
- Review the conservation related estimates of protected monuments.
- To assist in any duties assigned by Director (Conservation) from time to time.
To assist Director (World Heritage) in performing the following duties:
- Prepare and review nomination dossiers, State of Conservation (SoC) for Tentative list of monuments and sites.
- To assist in any duties assigned by Director (World Heritage) from time to time.

Post Status: Permanent
Service: General Central Service Group- “A” Gazetted, Non-Ministerial
Headquarters: New Delhi, liable to serve All India.
Any Other Conditions
Candidates selected for the post will, during the period of probation, be required to undergo training as per requirement of the job prescribed by the Archaeological Survey of India.
Note: There shall be a mandatory induction training of at least two weeks duration for successful completion of probation as prescribed by the Central Government.
